A Portrait of Martin Luther King Jr. as a Young Man

In this 40-minute talk, Patrick Parr will discuss the life of Martin Luther King before he became a national icon at the age of twenty-seven. Parr's book, THE SEMINARIAN: MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. COMES OF AGE, has been hailed by David J. Garrow as "the most important and original work about King in more than a quarter-century," while Kirkus called it "fearless...clear-eyed and honest."
During the talk, Parr, who grew up in Cuyahoga Falls, will also introduce himself and describe his five-year research journey into the young life of Dr. King. At the end there will be a chance to ask questions and have your copy of THE SEMINARIAN signed by the author.
